When was extrusion added?

| I want to upgrade an old version of Illustrator (5.0) so I can have the
ability to do 3D extrusion. Which version was this feature added in?

I can't answer your question but I still have a version 8.0 installed
and it does not have that feature.

You need Adobe CS for that.

| Couldn't you (legally) only upgrade to the latest version anyway?
People can't resell old upgrades, so I would think an upgrade to the
latest release would be the only thing you could do?

| The 3D functions were added to Illustrator CS2, and possible CS1 but I
am not sure as I upgraded from 10 to CS2.
If any one remembers Adobe Dimensions, this is the type of 3D you have
access to. I use dimensions for a lot of packaging and was very happy to
have this added to CS2 but am still learning how to use it in the way I
did with Dimensions.
In Dimensions I made quick rendering of my package designs for clients
using the same artwork I used for the final file for the printer. It was
quick and easy to use.

be imported into After Effects and animated?
