Is it possible to make a distressed logo (pic attached)

| Hi all,
I am hoping some of you Illustrator gurus on here can help a brotha out. I
have been wondering for some time now if it's possible to do a "distressed
logo" effect in Illustrator. I know how to accomplish this in Photoshop,
however of course PS doesn't do vector so that doesn't help. I have
attached an example of what I mean in case I don't make sense. Basically I
am wondering how, in example this t-shirt design, those "scratches" would be
made possible in a vector program. Is it possible? How?
Thanks a lot for any help with this!

| try this in PShop first.
Select the entire part of the image you want to convert to Paths by maybe
CTRL-clicking the Layer. Go to the Path palette and then pressing "make work
path" at the bottom. This creates the necessary paths to export.
Next, go to File, Export , Paths to Illustrator and name it.
Open Illustrator and find the file you just made. Press Ctrl+Y and Go to
Object, Crop Area, Release. Now all you have to do is select the box around
the image and Delete(or not). Press Ctrl+Y again and give your artwork a
1-pt Stroke to actually see it.
hope this helps.

| I think this NG doesn't allow attachments, you would have to post it to the
web and put a link

<g> Let me give you a clue - generally groups which allow binaries
are the groups which have binary in the title such as
alt.binaries.whatever ;-)
We all have to learn ;-)
