Author Problem importing Illustrator 7.0 files to Quark 5.0

I do freelance on my Windows XP at home. I had to reinstall all my graphics software (Quark 5, Illustrator 7.0 and Photoshop 7.0) and now I'm having a problem importing Illustrator files to Quark.

Example: I designed a logo in Illustrator 7.0 and saved it as an Illustrator .eps file. I want to incorporate it into an ad I'm creating in a Quark 5.0 document but whenever I create a picture box, the Illustrator file is showing a white box behind it. (I have my quark to default to no fill for boxes). I've looked at every possible setting I can think of but I'm not sure why my illustrator files are being saved with a white background.

Any suggestions???
