Separating path from text?
|
|
|
| Hi,
I'm really trying hard to break away from CorelDraw (which I love and
have used since version 3) and use Illustrator as it's just easier to
interact with the rest of the world.
In doing so, there are a bunch of things that I find are just harder to
do, or can't be done in Illustrator, but I'm hoping this isn't one of
them.
Once I have typed text along a path, can I then separate the text from
the path and keep the path as (in the case) a circle object?
Thanks,
Evan

Good question........Typing on the Path loses the circle
yes.......I always thought that was handy, but in time
(being an Illustrator fan) I also have to admit it is not
always handy.
But OK.
Select it with the open arrow (Direct Select) and give it a
stroke again. Switching to Outline mode might help to find
the circle;)
Tell us about the bunch of things. I am sure CorelDraw is
good. It is just getting used to a new piece of software,
ask on, lots of good people here.

oops add on!
Click the circle (open arrow), option(alt) key down. Copy,
paste, and there it is.

Make a copy of the circle so you can delete the path.
