Author Pantone colors - coated and uncoated

I'm doing a marketing package with pieces that will print on coated paper and pieces that will print on uncoated paper. I've chosen PMS 188C for the main logo color, but have found that it prints very differently on coated vs. uncoated paper. What can I do to get them a little closer? I'm not looking for perfect matching, but right now I'm getting a great deep red on the coated paper and a very washed out brown on the uncoated.

How do I keep the logo colors consistent?

any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Sarah
