| I created a duotone on Photoshop CS and when I bring it into Illustrator
(embed) it seems to convert to cmyk. Is there a way to get this to print as
a two color without going into Pagemaker or some similar program?

It should be saved in Photoshop as DSC2. This will preserve spot colour
information. Better to link the file.
