When is the output resolution in Document Setup and/or Attributes menu
really relevant? Is it only when you intend to print directly from
Illustrator? What about when printing to ps file?

I'm using v.9.0.2

As far as I know it is not relevant at all Inez. I always
leave it untouched, no matter when the output is for ps,
screen, laser/ink jet/ or off set.
