Printing transformed text?

| Perhaps an obvious thing, but I don't seem to be able to figure this
out: how can I make text transformations printable?
On Illustrator 11 (CS2) when I enter text, then transform it, the
transformations show up on the screen fine, but when attempting to
print, only the original text shows up. I've tried to convert text to
outlines, to rasterize it, etc. to no avail - only the original text
shows up on the print. This holds true only to text: non-text objects
show up both on the screen and on the printout after being transformed.
Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

| Meant to say Illustrator 12.0 (not 11.0).

I'm not sure this will help, but maybe try Object/Expand Appearance.
