Author Temp Files and Other Problems

Hi,

Forgive me if this has been discussed here before, but I'm having a problem
with Illustrator 10 on Windows. It seems that it very often forgets to
delete its temporary files when it quits, so my hard drive gets littered
with dozens of AIxxxxxx.tmp files after a while. It's not a huge issue, but
a little annoying. Is there any way to make it quit doing that? I've heard
this happens on Mac, too.

Also, most of the time, if I have Illustrator running when I'm shutting the
computer down, it hangs. It will close properly if I just do File > Exit,
but if another process is brought to the foreground before it's done
exiting, it won't exit, and won't even repaint, as a matter of fact. Ideas?

Thanks,
-Peter

Why do you have anything running when you shut down the computer? Shut down
all apps, then shut down the computer. That's why it isn't clearing out temp
files. It does that when you close Illustrator.

Info on EZClean:

http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm

self install link:

http://personal.inet.fi/business/to...es/EClea2_0.exe

does the job and a few more as well.

I recommen using the up date option once installed and checking frequently
espically the 'backlist' option.
