| why does it irk me when Brits call illustrator 'Illy.'
my dad is British and I get along very well with him so it's not the nation.
Is that the same as me calling the British 'Brits'? Am I a hypocrite?

| You probably don't like the ring of it. It's sounds a bit.......cheesy.
But it is a lot easier/faster to type.

| I'm Canadian and I write Illy. I don't say Illy though. I type it because
it's shorter and seems more accepted than AI.

| Miriam Webster says...
One entry found for illy.
Main Entry: il·ly
Pronunciation: 'i(l)-lE
Function: adverb
: not wisely or well : BADLY, ILL <his illy concealed pride -- Della Lutes>
This would kinda confirm what it does to Yitz. Eh!
Personally I go along with the less typing thing.

Maybe, I am Dutch, and I never used the word Illy until I saw it in this
group. I thought it sounded sweet and moreover I thought it saved me typing;)

So, I'm interested in Greek mythology ;-)
