[in]Accurate Measurements?

| Hi All,
I have a very general enquiry.
I am currently desgning some packaging which requires that I enter quite
accurate dimensions, esp. with the placement of guides.
I find very often that Illustrator will not accept a 'rounded off'
measure, e.g. 160mm becomes 159.999mm . This happens rather a lot and
though I realise that this is not a major cause of concern, I was
curious if anyone knew why,
Many thanks
Mart.

Illustrator's internal units are points (1/72 inch). So metric
measurements get converted to points, and then converted back for
display. There is a slight round-off error, but as you noted here, it's
on the order of 1 micron.

| Have you considered purchasing CadTools from HotDoor which is a plug in for Illustrator.
It adds a few extra tools in the Toolbar and I find it extremwly useful and handy.
