ATM and Illustrator 10
|
|
|
| Hi there
I just started a new job and they have been using ATM on their Macs for font
management. I have never used ATM before. It seems pretty straight forward.
just click on what you want to use etc...
Since this place is (unfortunately) pretty much Freehand crazy they don't
use Illustrator very often. Well, they do have it and I wouldn't mind using
it. It's just that all the fonts that I 'turn on' in ATM are available in
every program except Illustrator. Admittedly at this point I haven't tried
EVERY program but the fonts DO work in Freehand and even Photoshop.
Does anyone out there have some experience with ATM and know something about
this?
ps It's always good to learn as mch as possible but I hope that I won't be a
TOTAL Freehand expert. :)

The way to do it (not just for Illy) is opening up ATM and
install all the fonts you wish from the System folder or
where ever the fonts are installed.
Then it should be available I'd say. Well....works for me.

Would you know anything about how other programs seem to have the fonts
'virtually installed' (or however ATM works) while it seems only Illustrator
10 does not appear to have them available.

No, sorry every program (all the Adobe software and even
XPress) should work fine with ATM. I never had a problem.

Often if you install a font in ATM while Illustrator (& some other apps) are
open, you will find that you must re-open Illustrator, then the font will be
recognized. I got into the habit of installing/activating the fonts I needed
before opening the application. I found the same thing happens with Quark.
