Depending on what you need it for, email, print?
And what system are you running.

| Well, it's for print use. And I work on a WindowsMe machine.
Probably never ever use it for web; I don't do much of that anymore.
I print to an inkjet, for one, and it's the only way to get my embedded EPS
images to print (we all know Quark uses the low res previews to print to
non-PS devices). I know I could create and insert high res jpegs of the EPS
docs then replace at print time, but there are lots and lots of them in each
Quark document.
Any thoughts?

| The only reasonable thought I have is to export the XPress
pages to EPS. Import them in Illustrator. Somehow
Illustrator does not have the printing problems when using a
nonPS printer.
The other could be, distilling them to PDF and then opening
them in Illustrator.
Of course both options do not give you multiple pages. There
was someone who posted a link for a plug-in or such for
Illy, to be able to make multiple pages documents.
Third one: there should be a PDF maker out there, sorry I am
on Mac, but check this site:

This produces single pages that are "cut up" somewhat. =( But this is what
I have been doing to check my alignment, etc.

Can't do this without Distiller, unfortunately. I thought you could with the
Quark PDF export but nope.

I remember that too.. I'll look for it. That would solve other problems,
but not the Quark situation. I wish I didn't have to use Quark at all. This
is a 20-page booklet that I do on a volunteer basis. The print shop donates
a lot of hours to this, too, but the group has just acquired this old copy
of Quark, so I'd like to start compiling the booklet instead of relying on
them to place my 20 EPS documents into a Quark document. Oh, who am I
kidding... I want control!

| Oldylocks,
For a fee of (I think) $35.00 per product, GiftsinKind international
provides Adobe software for non-profits. There's links from Adobe.com, or
just dig around at giftsinkind.
David...

| I'd hate to usurp GiftsinKind (since its' a charity, and I've pointed some
there before), but there's also www.pdf995.com

| Is there a way to create pdf's from Quark 4.0 on a Mac without Acrobat?
