This is for everyone who is using SkillVantage Manager & Measure Ups to help study for their A+. There are two versions of SkillVantage Manager & Measure Ups. A 2.0 and 2.3 versions. The 2.0 gives out wrong information as well does the measure ups. Here is example of the 2.0 that was incorrect. Which of the following is NOT a benefit of the AGP bus over the PCI bus?
AGP slots are backward compatible with PCI cards.
The AGP bus in 2x mode has an effective clock rate of 133Mhz.
The AGP bus has direct access to systems RAM.
AGP reduces the need for video memory.
The answer is in a combo form, therefore, only one answer can be given. The 2.0 version answer was The AGP bus in 2x mode has an effective clock rate of 133Mhz., which is wrong because AGP slots are not backwards compatible with PCI. They even state this in their Explanation area when I got the answer wrong. The makers of Measure up were thinking of the PCI-X, which supports 164-bit slot at 133 Mhz for a throughput of 16B/sedc. The 2.3 version gives the answer of AGP slots are backward compatible with PCI cards. To make a longer story short, if you get an answer wrong check to make sure that they are right that way you will know for sure.
Thanks for you time.
