| My friend sent me this illustrator artwork as he was having trouble removing
an anchor point. With smart guides on, I hovered over the line and the
anchor point and I couldn't remove it either. In order to solve this I just
copied the object and pasted it onto a new artboard. It worked as normal,
the anchor was removed and i reinserted the object back into the original
file. What I want to know is, what was originally preventing me from editing
the anchor point in the first place? The person did use layers and this one
was definately unlocked as I could select the object however the pen tool
would not operate on it. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Sometimes I find I can't select an object by clicking directly on it
shortly after it has been unlocked, I have to drag select it or do a
select all. Once it has been highlighted I then deselect it and then it
works fine. Could be a similar thing with your friends object.
