Author Illustrator 9 on Mac OS 8.6, allocated memory

What would the group recommend as far as allocating
memory to Illustrator 9 while I'm still running Mac
OS 8.6? I need to be able to work with and create large
hi-res files, sometimes with rasters, for print.

I have 832mb actual ram, and as of tomorrow I'll
have a 40GB partition set aside for scratch disk
space.

Right now I have it set at 92562K (twice the suggested).

If you're working with hi-res raster files you want it to be as large as
possible to keep as many rasters in memory as possible. You need to set
some aside for the OS, so I'd try 600-700 Mb.
