Author Web Colours out of Gamut?

Using Illustrator 10, RGB colour mode, I find that if I select web safe
colours I often see the 'out of gamut' warning. How can web safe colours
ever be 'out of gamut'?

Often if I click on the 'out of gamut' triangle then I see the 'non web'
warning. If I then click on this a web colour is generated but I get the
'out of gamut' warning.

Any thoughts?

David

The "Out of gamut" warning means you have selected an RGB color that
cannot be represented in CMYK.
