Author PS-Effect "Bevel and Emboss" in Illustrator(10)?

Hi,

I would like to use the Photoshop Effect "Bevel and Emboss" for some text in
a print booklet. This text has to be in a pantone (spot) color. As this is
not possible in Photoshop, I would like to create this text in Illustrator
10.

Does anybody know which Illustrator-function / effect ist the closest to the
Photoshop layer effect?

I heard about "KPT vector effects" a plug in that adds some 3D features. Is
this available for AI10?

Thank you very much for your help!

Greetings, Mark

Actually, spot colors are possible to do in Photoshop, (just no the most
convenient).
Illustrator by itself dosen't have anything close to bevel.

KPT is for Photoshop.

FilterIT or VectorEffects are the only add on packages I know of for
Illustrator - might check and see what tools they have...

Illustrator CS has some 3d options, look into this new version. If this
effect is going to be something you will be using a lot then you could
find the upgrade cheaper than purchasing a separate plugin.
Look at the available plugins on the adobe site.

There is a bevel shadow under effects > svg filters I don't know how
well it will work with text, if at all. You may have to convert to
outlines for it to work. If you do that then the editing ability of the
text will be lost.

As the other poster said, KPT effects is a photoshop plugin, AFAIK.
