Okay Vamps, yer a lil slow so let me explain this to your dumbass.
1. the existing W3C proposed standards ARE NOT cross browser
compatible, they couldn't be, because NO BROWSER IN EXISTENCE fully
complies with W3C specs...in fact most all of them don't even come
close to 70% compliancy...nor should they for that matter. If all
browsers were W3C compliant there wouldn't be any point to having more
than one browser.
2. The DTD is a HACKED DTD, you can't ~really~ make your own DTD from
scratch...well I suppose you could but it wouldn't validate on the
W3Cs website. It would come up with zero errors though if you matched
it.
3. There is no such thing as "correct", VampiCramps. I'm not sure at
what point you got it into that thick XXXXin skull of yours that there
was some absolute "right way" of web coding, but you just need to wake
it the XXXX up right now and come on back to reality, Stupid.
4. All of these are points that you would EASILY comprehend...if you
actually were a web designer/coder. To put a fine point on
it...you're not. You're basically the web designer/coder equivalent
of a pop psychologist, ya stupid Fruitk00k.

1. It takes about 10 times as much effort.
2. It's less efficient
3. It moves away from standardization (the kind that actually exists,
not the fairy tale, hand holding, fantasy land bullshit the W3C puts
out)
4. devicefont
5. play
6. loop
7. quality
8. bgcolor
9. scale
10. salign
11. menu
12. wmode
13. allowscriptaccess
14. SeamlessTabbing
If you need any more reasons just refer back to all the embed
parameters for wmp and quicktime, you XXXXin doorknob!

Actually it's not elegant at all, in fact the d00d pretty much says
it's a bastardize way of doing it, nor does he give hardly any
information on WHAT browser and WHAT operating systems he tested it on
(10 to 1 says it'll frell on at least half of them).
And yes, Vampicramps, I was aware of the screwballs method...LOOOONG
before your dumbass Googled it up in abject frustration at looking
like a XXXXING MORON!

No Stupid, we were discussing the embed tag, which applied to ALL
sorts of stuff, not just Flash. Google, XXXXX, GOOGLE!

Just...just shut the XXXX up Vamps, seriously, yer stupidity is just
MIND NUMBING, it really is...cross platform code for mp3s...Jesus
XXXXin Keerist nailed to a cross and bleeding all over the gawd damn
carpet are you just unfathomably DUMB! o_O

you patently haven't delved into custom xhtml/xml declarations, you

there's plenty of online sources on dtds, but it's become very clear
your familiarity with them is scanty

why? it's much quicker and easier and more concise than hacking up a
dubious dtd

bullshit

nonsense ... <object> is the standard
your created entities and attributes are not

perhaps you might like to produce a list of the corresponding object
parameters rather than revelling in deprecated embed attributes

Should work with anything, Stupid. Find me a browser/OS combo that it
doesn't work on (and don't just shit at the mouth, post a screen
capture to prove yourself).
[color=darkred]
>your alzheimers is kicking in again
Well don't stop now, Stupid, go ahead and post all the links to your
incredible sites! *snicker*
[color=darkred]
[color=darkred]
>there's plenty of online sources on dtds, but it's become very clear

No, no, see unlike you I don't just READ shit in Google, I actually
TEST IT. It's a little something I like to call "experience"...get
some, you'll look less stupid.
[color=darkred]
[color=darkred]
>why? it's much quicker and easier and more concise than hacking up a

Hacking the DTD only took 10 minutes (probably DAYS less than what
that other fruit ball put into his failed endeavor). And once it's
been done...that's it. I mean, there's no other steps, no making
Flash loaders or any stupid hoo ha like that, it's just done, finshed.
[color=darkred]

Close your mouth then and quit typing.
[color=darkred]

There's you...not knowing what the XXXX you're talking about again.

Oh *MY* created entities and attributes, neh? LOL, hey everybody,
apparently I inveted all the different Flash parameters! Damn, I'm
even cooler than I first thought! Like wmode, XXXX that means I
invented Flash transparencies, sweet!
[color=darkred]
>perhaps you might like to produce a list of the corresponding object

Hey, hey MORON, you *DO* know that you don't need the object tags,
right? With all teh latest browsers versions (at least on Windows)
all you need is the embed tag. I mean...
http://www.backwater-productions.net/
o_O
Do you see the word "object" in there anywhere?
And free cl00, STUPID, the parameters for object are GOING TO BE THE
SAME for the embed tag...you stupid XXXXin doorknob! Yeesh,
apparently you don't even XXXXin comprehend what those tags are doing!
[color=darkred]
[color=darkred]

be a movie with no purpose within the site—just a 1k empty blob of
nothingness that causes the user to be prompted if they have an old
version of the plug in. Not the cleanest approach, but a practical
one. It shouldn’t lose you any friends."

Boy you have no idea how relieved I am to see you decided to shut
yourself the XXXX up about that whole "cross platform code for mp3s"
cause I didn't wanna have to verbally XXXX ya up TWICE in one night.
