Can you go to this site with as many browsers as you've got on either
Linux or Mac and then post the results:
http://www.backwater-productions.ne...m/bw3/test.html

I did manage to create my own DTD and I got it to accept the embed
tag, however I wasn't able to get the DTD to work with the table
height attribute (at least not as a percentage).

The only method for vertical centering alignment using CSS is
incompatible with IE and Safari on the Mac. Just do what I asked or
XXXX off, Kid. I'm not looking for inane blow hard inexperienced
commentary.

###

The documentElement offsets change with the window size. Unfortunately,
under a Mac, there is no such thing as "maximized" (it just makes the
window the same height as the screen, but not the full width), so most
people will not be browsing with a full screen.

This means, by the way, that the self.screen.width and height elements
are useless, because they give the screen resolution, not the actual
size of the window. Plus the height has buttons, menu and toolbars to
contend with.

One other option you have is to define the flash as 50% of the screen
and use spacer gif files defined as 25% on each side and top and bottom.

I've never tested that last method, but it SHOULD work. I have no idea
what affect that would give if someone resized their window while on the
page, though.

Dunno if this helps, but here's what I got in Konqueror

Operating System - Linux
Browser - Konqueror

document.documentElement.offsetWidth - 811
document.documentElement.offsetHeight - 10

self.screen.width - 1024
self.screen.height - 768

document.documentElement.clientWidth - 811
document.documentElement.clientHeight - 10

self.screenTop - undefined
self.screenLeft - undefined

self.innerWidth - 811
self.innerHeight - 493

....and Firefox:

Operating System - Linux
Browser - Firefox

document.documentElement.offsetWidth - 1008
document.documentElement.offsetHeight - 574

self.screen.width - 1024
self.screen.height - 768

document.documentElement.clientWidth - 1008
document.documentElement.clientHeight - 574

self.screenTop - undefined
self.screenLeft - undefined

self.innerWidth - 1008
self.innerHeight - 574

Interesting how the differences show up.
