Computer Graphics with Photoshop

I got image jumps (square white pads inside images in Photoshopelements2
or/and
The Gimp; occurs once to six times at the image opening and when doing any
modification of the image. Only the image itself is jumping)
My config:WIN XP/ Athlon XP 3000+; 1500Mo RAM; Asus motherboars A7N8X-E;
graphic card Albatron 6200 (Nvidia).
Severall Nvidia drivers tested; same result on an other XP PC + Nvidia 440
; no problem on Compaq Armada or Toshiba P30 (Intel procs).

Any idea? Seems a refresh problem to me... Soft ware or hardware: probably a
little bit of each!
