Creating slices based on the objects in one layer

I have all my buttons in one layer. Is there a way for Photoshop to
automatically generate all the slices using the objects (each one is a
button) in one layer. I can only find "New Layer Based Slices" command
but it creats only one slice of the whole layer. I can duplicate the
layer into multiple layers and edit out the redundant ones, but it
takes a long time.

So is there a way to create slices based on the objects in one layer?
Or is there a way to automate the pocess of cutting objects of one
layer into multiple layers?
