Author How do I move slowly when zoomed in?

When I zoom in really close and I am tracing with the poly lasso on an
image, I have the hardest time moving to the edge of the screen because
it jumps, to the next 'section' rather than moves slowly so I can
continue tracing. How can I do this, because it makes it very
difficult to work on something that needs to be zoomed in very close.
I hope this makes sense.

Try pressing the space bar, and moving via the 'hand' tool instead, as soon
as you release it reverts to the lasso tool.

Better yet, use the Pen tool for this.

Or if you don't want to use the pen tool (it's a bit difficult to
learn) at least use layer masks. Layer masks are extremely easy to use
and essentially let you "paint" your selection. It's non-destructive so
you can edit it at any time (simply "paint" back in areas you want),
allows you to easily feather edges if you wish (just paint with a soft
brush or reduced opacity), and can easily be converted to a selection
if you need one.

the pen tool does the same "jumping" at the edges of the image, if you are
zoomed in on an image when you try to continue the "draw" it leaps down the
page.........often where you don't want it.

It may be a Windows thing??

Same thing happens in Dreamweaver (web page editor), so maybe it is a Windows
thing. But, whatever the cause, it is exceedingly annoying whenever it happens.
