Below is an extract from Harold heim's newsletter - thought some of you
might be interested in this small utility! - especially as it's free, and
especially as we have had a few cropping threads recently.

JPEGCrops (for Windows) lossless cropping with fixed aspects. You can
process single images or batch process whole folders. Apart from cropping
the JPEG files you can also losslessly rotate them

Yes, this struck me as interesting too. This tool also apparently does
lossless cropping and has been around since 2003(?)
http://sylvana.net/jpegcrop/ - many other lossless resources on that
site. Other platforms can probably use the jpegtran tool there.
