cleaning up a hand drawn picture

I am a doll artist. I make patterns that look like dress patterns you
would buy in a sewing store only they are drawn on ordinary printer
paper. I usually work with pdf.
Here is my question:
How do I take my hand drawn (black marker) pattern and make it look
like it is NOT hand drawn? And how to I get the text to be on the
curvy lines? I just can not figure this out! I am tired of publishing
hand-drawn patterns. It works but it isn't professional looking.
Thank you sooo much

Post a few examples on your site so we can see the problem.

I think the best way would be to use the pen tool and trace over the
lines on a new layer (I would assume it's mostly straight lines and
simple curves). It would take a while at first if you're not familiar
with the pen tool, but you could get pretty fast at it once you did a
few (and use different colors, etc. to really customize if you wanted).
Then to get the text to follow the curved lines, click on F1 and do a
help search for "text on a path" (without quotations, of of course). It
will step you through it.
Also, just as an off-topic, but since you're into sewing, have you tried
any of the pattern making software? I have one called PatternMaster
Boutique that I really love (not affiliated, just love it). I know some
of the women on the Patternmaster forum have talked about using the
software to create custom doll clothes patterns for the American Girl as
well as Barbie dolls. If you want to try the demo, it's at
wildginger.com. They also have a freebie program there called "Wild
Things" for accessory patterns (purses, hats, and such).
