Book for Photoshop CS2 Windows
|
|
|
| I own a PC with Windows XP.
Most PS books are aimed at the MAC and even though they give Windows
instructions, the illustrations are for the MAC.
I am interested in a compressive Adobe PS CS2 book for the digital
photographer. Has anyone read the following book?
"Complete Photoshop CS2 For Digital Photographers"

Is it aimed at the MAC or WINDOWS?
Any good?

I bought Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers by Martin Evening when
I upgraded from Elements and found it very good indeed on both
Photoshop itself and other bits of colour theory. It has detailed
instructions for both Mac and Windows.

| Most CS2 books are for both Mac and Windows, giving terms for both types of
computers. My favorite book is Scott Kelby's The Photoshop CS2 book for
Digital Photographers.

Photoshop for Windows and Photoshop for Macintosh are virtually
identical. The only thing you have to remember is that the OPTION key on
the Mac is the ALT key on Windows and that the COMMAND key on the
Macintosh is the CONTROL key on Windows. If the book talks about
CNTL-click on the Mac; that's the same as right-click on Windows.

Do not know the above book, or the author. As has been mentioned, Scott Kelby
does a nice one, especially geared for photographers using PS. As has also
been mentioned, nearly all the books that I have seen in the last 10 years
have been very much X-platform. Yes, one might have to look in the ('s for the
MAC, or the PC keystrokes, but the program is almost 100% the same, regardless
of platform - plug-ins and add-ons might not be.
For photographers, using PS, I really like the Ben Wilmore "... Studio
Techniques... " books. They are version specific. There are many more good
ones. Is there some specific areas that you are most interested in: color
correction/reproduction, retouching, image manipulation/assembly? This will
help othes to give worthwhile recommendations.
