| Hello all. New to group and hoping for help. I run Photoshop CS on a
Mac using OS X 10.4.5. Here's the deal... Slowly, certain things are
not working properly in the program. Things that DID work for the first
while. I'm not changing any settings or preferences. Selection boxes,
blurs, etc. are shutting down one by one. My latest and biggest problem
is the program will not read/open photos that I have shot in "raw" on
my digital camera. Has anyone heard of this or can anyone point me in
the right direction? Thank you.

Your exact Mac and specs?? HDD- total and free space? AS to RAW, have
you previously opened RAW files from the same camera?

| Hey John, it's a G5 with plenty of free hard drive space. Yes, the raw
was opening before on the same camera. Weird huh? Any thoughts?

By some chance, did you recently install a camera mfgr's RAW program, i.e.
Nikon's Capture 4.x? Don't know about Canon, et al, but Nikon Capture will re
-write ACR plug-ins. May be the same for other camera mfgrs.
Any other programs that have been installed since it all worked well? Do you
happen to have the latest ACR from Adobe? If not, have you d-l'ed it and
placed it in your Formats>Camera RAW folder (gotta' remember, I'm a WinDude,
so I don't know exactly how things work in MAC world)? Any other programs
acting strangely?

| Hi John, I'll double check the placement of the ACR, but there were no
other installs from a camera manufacturer. Photoshop seems to be the
only program "glitching." I use the entire Creative Suite extensively
so it's strange that only this one acts up. Thank you.
