| Hi, John!
There is another way to add a gradient to text, leaving the text editable
and also giving you more gradient flexibility:
1) Type your text. Click its layer in the Layers palette to commit it.
2) Make a new layer above your Type layer.
3) Hold your cursor between the Type layer and your new layer in the Layers
palette. Alt-click. (Option-click with a Mac.) This groups the two layers.
4) Click your top layer in the Layers palette.
5) Make your Gradient on that new layer.
Now any part of this is completely editable. Have fun!
