Author strange behaviour?

Hi,
I'm running PS CS2, XP Pro. All of a sudden when I open a jpeg image a
progress bar comnes up saying "reading jpeg format" then another saying
"converting colours". I haven't changed any settings. What's going on?
Cheers,
Paul

Colours? Me Gawd, it's gone British on you! Did your left and right mouse
buttons also change places?

This will happen if the JPEG has a color profile, and in your Photoshop
Color Settings you have told Photoshop to convert to the working profile
you have set.

If you do not know what any of that means, then likely you have not
profiled your system and do not have valid working profiles set, and you
should probably instruct Photoshop to ignore profile mismatches or you
may get unexpected results.
