I'm in the process of purchasing a graphics tablet to use with PS. I've come
across hundreds of brands and models.

I'm a hobby PS user and just for photo touch up and restoration.

What brands are of the better quality(not looking to spend a fortune)?

I imagine that 4x5 would be a little small , but I don't think 8x12 is
really needed either. What would be a good size for my needs?

Does anyone know of a retailer that carries these items in stock?(rather go
pick it up than order and ship)

Thanks for any help

Bob

Wacom dominates this market and their tablets work well with Photoshop
and Corel Painter. I'd stick with Wacom myself.

I think they have a high-end line (Intuos 2 or 3?) and a moderate-price
line (Graphire or something like that) ... you probably want the
Graphire?

I used to use a cheap 4x5" model (I think 'ArtPad') and it was OK, you
get used to the small footprint ... now I have a nice 6x8" Intuos 3,
which is great, and that size feels perfect for me. I think there may
be 5x7" models as well but for sure 6x8" works fine.

Fry's Electronics carry many versions where I live, I think Comp USA
has some as well ... I ordered mine from B&H though ...
