Beginner to Photoshop seeking help!

I need to add a small button image to the two right hand corner of an
image. Both pictures are jpegs. All I have succeeded in doing has been
to have the small image bang in the centre. What method do I use to
locate the button in the top right hand corner please? Can anyone
either please explain, or direct me to a website that will explain in
simple terms?!

Thanks

The button is in a separate layer, and you can freely move that around
after you have selected the 'move tool'. That is the tool in the upper
right corner of the toolbar.
