Computer Graphics with Photoshop

Hi Group

My first post here and i guess this is a topic that has been covered a few
times.

I have a copy of photoshop and i want to start using layers so i can
create professional banners for websites i design.

I understand the concept of layers and i have done some research on google
for tutorials but i would like to ask if anyone here has a link to the
best tutorial or write up on layers for complete novices.

Your advice would be appreciated
