| hi,
i am a newbie to graphics printing.
i was trying to download some moview posters from their official
websites. most are in jpeg format. when i opened it in ps6 and zoomed
it to print size mode, the image was approxiamtely a4 in size. but when
I printed it, it was a little bit pixelated...
am i missing something?

Nope...
For most color printers, you'll need around 300 DPI (much higher doesn't
make much sense). 240 DPI sometimes is also enough, depending on the
printing process.

240 dots/inch is for normal printing. More is better.

It actually depends upon the printer and more may be better to a small
extent. Beyond that it is a myth.
