Curvemeister class is starting this week
|
|
| Mike Russell 2004-10-02, 12:14 pm |
| The next curvemeister beginner's color curves class begins the week of
October 3, and there are still spots available. Members of this news group
are welcome to join. The class includes four sessions of about 12 images
per session.

If you prefer a lesser challenge, check out the Curvemeister challenge, a
series of single images on which you may compare your color correction
results with others. We're nearing the end of the second challenge, and the
results are just as interesting and varied as for the first challenge.

Macs are certainly allowed. Although it's not indicated, about half the
people in the challenge are Macintosh, and as expected, they are very good
at it.

The challenge as stated requires the curvemeister plugin and that
appears to be Win only.
But if the challenge was won by someone who didn't use the plugin, and
used a Mac, that would certainly hurt sales.
So I understand the limitations, I just think they should have been
stated up front in the post to usenet.

The challenge says that you may use any sopftware to perform your color
correction. Installing the demo is suggested, but it is not a requirement.
If it says differently anywhere, please let me know and I'll change the
wording.
The challenges are not competitive, and there are no declared winners,
though this may change in the future if there is enough member interest.
Why don't you participate in the demo? - I suspect you'll do quite well.

My apologies. I misread the web page. It does indeed say that any
software may be used.

Heh. Maybe 5 years ago, but I'm a manager now...
I have someone working for me that can kick the color corrected XXX of
anyone, anywhere. I'll point him at the competition. Up to him if he
participates, but if so he can do it on paid time.

Thanks, Dave. Several previous participants have commented that it's been a
good learning experience to compare color correction work with others, and
the more excellent entries the better.
