saving selections??????

| hi all, im trying to save a complicated selection that i created using the
pen tool. what i do is to go to select-save selection. the problem is, when
i close photoshop and restart, i can load the image but not my
selection(saved as "k1").
is there any way to do this?

If you use the Pen tool, the path should be in the Paths palette.

You load a selection with the "Load Selection" command.
When you saved the selection, where did you save it? As a channel in the same
document? In a new document?
When you saved the file, what format did you save it in? PSD? TIFF? EPS? JPEG?
Some formats, such as JPEG and EPS and BMP, do not permit alpha channels. If
you save a selection as a channel, then save the file in a format that does not
allow alpha channels, the saved selection is gone when you open that file.

| what would you reccomend?
i was trying to save as a tif.

| sorry for the incomplete answer..
i just clicked "save selection - destination - desktop, channel-new saved in
tiff format.
the prob is, when i go to "load selection" after i restart photoshop, its
greyed out, i cant select it. i cannot see anything in paths either.
