Hello all,
I am looking to buy an advanced wired router with 8-16 ports, mainly for profound Internet traffic control, shaping and monitoring inside office.
Basically I want it to replace me the need of installing that Linux server, and use a modern advanced router solution instead.
Regardless of its price I’d be grateful for some suggestions on a good model.
These are the basic needed specifications for wired router that I am looking for (not important if its with built in DSL modem, its ok if so):
1. Traffic controller and monitor
2. Can be used for traffic control by setting a speed limit for all kinds of connections or restricting access to certain Internet sites
3. Can be used for traffic control by setting a download amount limit, and apply rules for computers that exceeded their download limit
4. Controls all traffic to/from your computers or on your network
5. Can even define filters that show transfers with certain Internet addresses (e.g. to see how much data were download from some internet locations)
6. It can analyze the data packets (where they come from, where they go, which port and protocol they use)
7. Makes it possible to distinguish between local and Internet traffic
8. Creates statistics for all computers in your network
9. Measures and displays all LAN traffic as well as download / upload from the Internet
10. Get an overview of how much bandwidth computers use
11. Control the traffic and maintain the statistics of downloaded / uploaded data of all computers in the network
