I believe that is the second time I have made the top 10. The question
is: Where have all the regulers gone. It's a bit concerning really, I
only made 6 posts, I can remember is group getting people post around
50 posts in the stats not so long ago. Maybe we are all just to flat-
out working on websites?.

I said it before, a lot of the regulars became thoroughly pissed off
with the attitudes and flaming. This group has degenerated into a
rather pointless exercise in futility doing little more than:
a) Spamming Google
b) Spamming Wikipedia
Which is ironic, since Google is under investigation in the UK for
it's poor privacy - storing 18 months worth of data regarding
individuals search results and web surfing, all linked to the
individual's identify, apparently accoding to Radio 4 this morning. Be
afraid, be very afraid!

Actually speaking of Google I downloaded the Google Pack the other day
*on my parents PC mind you, (I would not subject my own machine to
that kind of shite), the bad part about that was that. I did not have
access to my computer at the time (and the other machine did not have
Addobie Reader, which I needed. But I only wanted the 1 bit of
software!.

If you scan the FROM list in the group you'll see that almost all the
regulars are still here...
If you go back and read the group back when it took 50+ posts to make the
top ten you'll see that it was basically just 2-3 people who would argue all
the time, make plenty of off topic posts or just reply to every single post
in the group (including spam) with stupid little 1 line replies like "I
agree" or "Hey ____ how you doing?", etc.
The volume of posts went up because others would get caught up in the
arguments or reply to the OT posts and make 1 line replies as well.
Despite the number of posts being down, I would say that the overall content
of the group (number of on topic posts or posts with relevant content) is
about the same.
Can't really comment on the work aspect of it, but maybe. I stopped working
for clients other than myself back in 2002 but last fall I started accepting
a few other jobs and have been finding that there does seem to be more work
out there than there was just a few years ago but thats hard to say about
the "big picture" of the market, but maybe.

On that particular subject, it would be hard to say. It might be more
although there might be less work for designers. A case in point would
be the amount of organisations now begining to use CMS's for the
management of web content and templates. Although with that said I do
notice that some organisations that make OS products such as CMS
systems that some do offer payed support for such services.
