Hi ,
anyone like to comment on proxy servers? Ive setup one..( I think
everyone should have one.. like kids..)

www.proxyireland.com

Ive got 5,212 unique users in the last 3 days just from spreading the
link around to friends..

Google had also indexed it within about 1 day of going live which was
kind of cool too!

Thoughts?

I am using http://www.squid-cache.org on Ubuntu linux as home router+server

You could add a redirector to scan incoming pages for virus using ClamAV.

With 5000+ users that might be a bit CPU-intensive!

04/28/07 11:13:58 dns proxyireland.com
Canonical name: proxyireland.com
Addresses: 209.85.14.2

Thanks, just blocked that IP from my server since all ad companies disallow
proxies.
Inserted into firewall: Deny all to/from 209.85.14.2

This is a job for the Itanium if I've ever heard one.

Problem is, they are still incredibly expensive.

The new computer I'm building is quad core. Having problems getting the
PSU to work. :-( But hopefully I'll get that sorted tomorrow.
