Need script for a navigation (link) technique
|
|
|
| Hello!
I am looking for the script (Java Script) of a particular technique in
navigation which is actually the in-thing today. It is when you go
over with the mouse a particular link, the sub-links of that
particular link automatically appears at the right hand side of the
link. To make my point clear please visit http://www.eccp-ywam.org.uk
and please go over the links "Home" or "Community", etc.
I would highly appreciate it if somebody could help me out with thin
ASAP...Thanks a lot in advance!

Search for "drop-down menu"

The in-thing. Hmm. Consider that fly-out menus are hard to use for
anyone with a bit of motor deficiency, are near impossible for keyboard
users, and don't work At All for anyone with JavaScript (it's one word)
disabled, or stripped by their corporate firewall.
For those with JavaScript, these menus become annoying as you move the
mouse up to the Back button, and happens to pass over them. Blink/flash!

I saw no 'automatically appears' links there. Oops, I don't have
JavaScript!

If you must, the script is right there in the page you cited. Looks like
some bloated stuff from DreamWeaver. And it isn't a good example of
proper coding, either. :-(

And even for those of us who don't have a bit of motor deficiency.

I'll add my +1 to this.
In usability tests, fly-out menus are often described as "slippery" by
participants.

Its also known as a "fly out" menu. There are several versions available
on: http://javascript.internet.com/ under navigation.
