| I want to register a .dj domain - however any site I try either says
the WHOIS is not working or it just goes in loops...
Can anyone recommend a good register that will let me buy a .dj domain
please?
Thanks

| Thanks. The domain I want had already been registered but the WHOIS on
that site says that it has just expired... (there is no site present
on the domain)
I would now like to register it but it still won't let me. I assume
that it takes some time for it to be deleted and released again for
sale.
Can anyone tell me how I might be able to find out when and how I can
register it?
Thanks

Different registries and registrars have different policies about what
they do with expired domains. Some may go back into the general pool
immediately, some may have a "grace period" for late renewals before
they permanently expire, some may try to get the original registrant
to pay an extortionate "redemption fee" to get their domain back after
it expires, some might use "waiting lists" of others trying to be
first in line to get a domain after it expires, and some registrars /
registries might even take ownership of expired domains themselves and
try to get revenue from hits to their sites. There's no overall
consistent policy on such things, so it's "pot luck".
