Author Designs?

Hi, I've been using Open Source web design (oswd.org) to grab a basic design
to work off, but am wondering if any here have a templates site they use to
get their basic layout?

Personally, I'm more of the programmer than designer, hence the help in
templating is really useful and a huge timesaver. If you have any links,
please do share them!

Nick

Thanks, I think the main thing is that I don't really have the artistic
imagination . I enjoy the programming side of things and css isn't exactly
difficult, however it's the look of the websites and techniques involved in
that I need to improve/get done elsewhere.

I mean, how do you decide what a website is going to look like? I've seen
some great designs out there, but mine tend to be the plain/practical. I
think I should consider going on a course to learn the photoshop design
techniques. Learning what to do with photos to maker them website ready
would be a great start. Just sticking a photo on a website is obviously very
boring! Making nice headers and smoothing out photos etc would be the way
forward.

Anyone able to share some general hints and tips off group?

http://www.steves-templates.com/

All the graphics, the templates for the buttons etc came from the above
website. Below was my result(www.chatnfiles.com) . I moved some stuff to
css and put in alt= stuff but the graphics are absolutely lovely. All it
cost me was some time.

You wait an hour and a half on a weekday and whine because you don't
get a reply? Welcome to Usenet, noob. Now go use Google.
