Your site looks very good to me, except for the main logo (
windlogo3.gif ). The quality and readability are poor. You should
redesign it, rather than trying to fix it up.

I found http://www.windwalkervineyard.com/secured/Order1.htm via
Google. Every link from it is broken.

thanks, I am just trying to figure things out. The client is giving me
some static about the site so I thought maybe I was slipping.

they won't tell me what they like or don't like, but they are getting one
to two orders (usually for full cases of wine per order) off the site
almost every day now since I revamped it which seems good to me.

Seems to me like the white image and contact block kind of break up your
header/masthead/whatever.

Is the most impressive image link from the main page
to another site?
(I do not know anything about your site, so I might be wrong).

The harsh reality is that it's a horrible landing page. Just a bunch of
unlabeled pictures that don't drive the visitor to do anything unless
they mouse around. And why the *hell* would you make the logo drive
traffic to other vineyards? There's also a lot that should be changed
when you get into the site, too, but I'm not about to do your whole job
for you. The main thing to think about is *what* this site is for and
*how* you can make that easier. If the intent is to sell wine, it's
doing a poor job. I'd leave the site after seeing "Desert Wines" alone.

It looks badly broken to me in IE6 windows.

For example on this page (on the other sale pages as well):
<URL http://www.windwalkervineyard.com/pages/redwines.php/>
I only see the side navigation and the top banner with the vist eldorado
image *center* aligned. I do *not* see anything else. None of the content.

It "works" in a mozilla flavor browser, but in IE (don't know about
IE7) it is badly broken to the point where you see nothing on the
shopping pages and on a page like about us the content is pushed below
the navigation.

The only page I visisted that appeared to be working in IE was the
gallery.

Now, I'm a pragmatic web developer. I don't insist on tableless
layouts, I don't care as much about whether the html validates, but if
the site is broken in IE, and this is, you have a serious problem.

I am amazed that apparently no one else here has bothered to look at
this site in IE. Personally I don't use IE as my main browser, but I
care more about what a site looks like in IE than in any other UA.

Looks as if it works (FF2 / Windows) just as you intended. No obvious
brokenness. I've not heard of Helamonster before, but it seems to
generate more-or-less competent code.

However the _design_ itself is ghastly. No content, ugly colours,
mystery meat navigation. Looks like 1997 all over again.

Start again.

It's own home page doesn't generate a lot of confidence:

Neither does the grammar at helamonster.com

This inspires even less confidence. If you click on the link to:
"web design-more info"

ERROR 404 - PAGE NOT FOUND
Oops! Looks like the page you're looking for was moved or never existed.
Make sure you typed the correct URL or followed a valid link.
We recommend you load this web site using Firefox. [I was using Opera]

Honestly, it's not that bad. It's worse! The Gecko is a little
absolutely positioned javascript thingy. Like every other graphic it's
poorly anti-aliased and the transparent background is iffy. But come on
guys, it's mostly valid tableless (x)html. Frankly I would think not
finding the web design page is a blessing.

The Firefox error console is usually quite helpful,
you can see there some CSS errors.

Audi had a nice one on their site as a screensaver promoting the Audi
quattro. So I stole it.

I agree but the client wanted me to copy another web site, I had labels
but they thought it didn't look good and had me take them off. so I added
some javascript buttons but they haven't seem them yet so I may have to
remove them also

And why the *hell* would you make the logo drive

you were busy, didn't think anyone would mouse over that.
not sure where that logo will go, it is a pain in the butt
mostly, I would like to just remove it.

There's also a lot that should be changed

I plan on rescanning those labels if that is what you mean?

So, instead of stealing someone else's site (which could land you and
your customer in legal trouble), find out what they like about the site
and design a new one based on that.

No, he means the word is not "Desert" but "Dessert" wines.

Exactly why I would also leave the site after seeing it.
