| Greetings
I have inherited a website for my local church. Noone knows anything
except me and the last person is completely unavailable.
I am unable to find the link to the main banner graphic. It is in the
image folder and appears on every page, but I can't find where it is
called. The home page is index.php and it isn't mentioned there. In the
folder where all other pages are kept there is another index.php and it
isn't called in there. It isn't in the css. There is one file in the
content folder called index.htm that I can't look at because it says
that it is protected. I have tried with WeBuilder 2006 and WsFTP Pro. I
don't know whether it is protected by the something on the site itself,
or by the server administrators.
Can someone help me with what I should do next? I am trying to get a
handle on the site and its structure and not being able to find where
this banner is called is frustrating.
Many thanks for any help you can suggest.

You don't have the password to FTP and/or a control panel?

It's either from the html file, or from the css file.
URL?

If the site is written in PHP, then it's likely that the header is a
standard include. So the link will be in the included file, not the
page file.

Of course, but this will result in straight html to be read by the
browser, so he should still be able to see from where the image is
called.

| Sorry for not putting in the site ... how dense!
The url to the site is
http://www.balgowlah.anglican.asn.au
The banner I cannot locate is the top graphic ... as I said it is in
the image folder but I can't find the file/code that calls it. You can
look in to the image folder and a few of the other folders via http.
Do you need any more info?
Yes, I have the passwords to the ftp site.
I can also go in to the Webserver ... though I have no idea whatsoever
what I am looking at when I am there as it is not a commercial provider
and you need to know what you are doing. The church diocese provides
the space to the churches ... but there is not support and you have to
know what you are doing. LOL!

Please don't toppost, in this group we read from top to bottom, so
replies go below the replied to lines.

It is referenced twice: in the CSS file and in the embedded styles in
the head of the index file, probably in an include, as Mark pointed
out. It's the background of the h1.

Do you? ;-)

Very sorry ... long time since used a newsgroup

Now I see it. I spend ages looking for it. Thank you so much.

Absolutely!! But need to acquire it myself if I can and there is a lot
of info out there. Thank you so much for your help. I will post again
if I get stuck.

He didn't say he couldn't find the graphic, he said he couldn't find
from where it is being called. He explicitly said the graphic was
right there, in the images folder.
