Author Question on bold look and text color
Hoopster

Hello,

I have the following code:

<style type="text/css">
a:link{ text-decoration: none;
color: gray;
}
a:visited{ text-decoration: none;
color: gray;
}
a:hover{ text-decoration: none;
color: blue;
font-weight: bolder;
letter-spacing: 2px;
}

This makes my white letters show up bold (about 3 x the size when
hovering. However, the text doesn't change to blue or gray for some
reason it still stays white. I want it so that my text changes from
white to blue on hovering.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you going to come in here every time you hit a problem? What about
doing some researching and fixing things for yourself? By all means ask
in here for pointers, or if you are really stuck, ask for advice.

Strikes me that as soon as you hit the slightest snag you are coming in
here for a quick solution. Continue like that and you will learn
nothing, and you will spend the rest of your life asking questions.

Thanks Chuck for your kind words.

Listen - if you do not want to respond or help just don't.

There are other fine people here that are happy to help out.

And pretty soon, you're going to alienate every last one of them with your
Chicken Little routine.

We all realize that everyone has to start somewhere. It isn't like any of
us were born knowing this stuff.

Nevertheless, the questions you're asking are so basic that a quick search
through Google will give you all the information you need, and then some.

Try doing THAT before asking your question and you'll find people much more
willing to help you.

He obviously *did* want to respond, or he wouldn't have responded.

Post the URL so we can have a look. It's probably a typo or something
in your CSS/HTML, but guessing where is going to be very difficult
unles we can actually see it in action :-)

bah - you promised you were going to use funds from your last paying gig
to pull the crystal ball from hock.

btw: validators are a reasonable place to start looking for typos.
