linking...its a nightmare!

| Golfer 2006-08-18, 6:39 am |
| I keep getting asked to link with small sites who just look after a
couple of villas or apartments and have bad sites and no ranking so it
doesn`t add anything to our site www.sungolfer.com i always reply and
say we can put there property on our books and infact have helped a
couple of them out.
I keep asking larger sites and get a no. A no reply. or their
adsvertising rates.
Under serach terms which i wish to be as high as possible the sites are
portals thus most of my competion is there and they want payment..
I confess i havent spent a huge amount of time on this area, but wish
to get going now. (4 months and google still hasn`t listed us.....)
Any thoughts, plans or ideas would be welcome
Thanks on advance

It also appears you offer a very desireable product, I have a friend
who would probably book with you. Have you thought od advertising in
the golfing press?
How about a .co.uk domain name? To encourage British customers?

| With this site do i get to choose who i have banners with so that there
is some relevance with my site?
With regards advertising, that is another thing.......we advertise in
press, direct to clubs and try to put A5 poster in places that we think
will help, about to research into email marketing as if we can get
direct to a golfer, and one that enjoys playing abroad, that should be
good.
always open to any thoughts or ideas as not convinced the magazines are
the best way forward for ROI.
p.s. hope i can help your friend sometime........

With showyoursite.com you can choose which classification of other web
sites you want your banner adverts to be displayed on. But as you'll
appreciate, golf is played by people with a wide range of interests,
so it may not be sensible to restrict the scope of sites on which your
banner is displayed.
Similarly, visitors to your site, looking to book a weeks golfing in
southern Spain (sounds great) will also have other interests, so
whikle you can block banners you consider inapprpriate, you will find
that most of them may be relevant to your readers, if not about golf -
you don't want too many competitors advertising on your site do you?

Are your services relevant to British golfers? If so I have a client that
I would be happy to introduce you to. So far as I know your market is the
same but your interests do not conflict.
He has, what would generally be regarded by most measures, a busy site.

connected to golf, spain or holidays that are not competition to us. If
you know someone that is interested then contact me.
Thanks

Sorry - I'll not be publishing the names and addresses of my clients
without their permission - you'll have to search them out yourself or
follow the procedure as above.
Just trying to help mate - if you're not interested you only have to say
so.

| Sorry William i think you miss understood. I thought if you did have
someone that was interested or could benefit then all my information is
there rather than me going through your site. I understand you not
wishing to publish names ect..............
I am interested but no problem if its difficult, my main interest is
about what people think about the title and general ideas.
Thanks for the thought.

Difficult? How difficult is it for you to send those details to
William? It's *you* who's in need of contacts - I'd work a little
harder if I were you :-)

ok - as I said, I have no idea what your site is[1]. I gave the details
to contact direct so that I could write a mail introducing you to each
other. However if you brain dump here then I'll forward on.
[1] 24 hours is my usenet limit so anything published days ago has now
gone from view here.
