Author StumbleUpon Summary - 1 day
Karl Groves

2006-08-15, 6:38 pm

After reading the threads about StumbleUpon, I decided yesterday (late
morning) to register. I then added some sites to my favorites. I chose to
add sites that are pretty different from each other in terms of content and
traffic. Here are the 1 day results.

www.karlcore.com - avg visits per day: 236; Visits yesterday: 349
(pageviews more than doubled) - 1 person added this to their favorites

www.precisionchassis.com - avg. visits per day: 22; Visits yesterday: 47
(pageviews only increased slightly, though)

www.neorescue.net - avg. visits per day: 266; Visits yesterday: 374
(pageviews rose correspondingly)

www.grayscalecms.com - avg. visits per day: 71; Visits yesterday: 194
(pageviews rose correspondingly) - 3 people added this to their favorites

www.webaccessstrategies.com - avg. visits per day:14 ; Visits yesterday:
175 (page views rose correspondingly)

Lastly, there are two almost-brand-new sites:

www.indiehandbook.com - avg. visits per day: 4; Visits yesterday: 34 (page
views are actually down, however)

www.belladolcemastini.com - avg. visits per day: 41; Visits yesterday: 131
(pageviews are actually down)

I will report back in 2 weeks to see if the traffic stays or dies back to
where it was

Interesting info.

Only problem with the long-term test is that you may see a spike today
from people reading aww who are curious what the sites are.

My CMS counts the number of referrals from each source. A typical day is
80-90 unique visitors. I had something like 110 +/- referrals from SU the
first day, and about 50 yesterday; also double page views and 3 fans. Old
folk like me :) I like the community that's sprung up and I also plan to
spend some time giving back as much as I'm getting. I've found some
awesome websites based on my prefs that I never would have found on my own.

Very true. My own SU bookmarks are growing quite rapidly as I've found tons
of really great new sites, too.

NP
Profile stuff ... INFP ... same as the last dozen times I've taken the BMPT

It sure does!
You'd be surprised at how amazing I am at guessing people's archetypes.

I'm actually an XNTP, but they didn't have the X listed (I don't blame
them. It would have littered the listings too much to have all those X's as
options.)

I'm exactly 50/50 between E/I, but 100% an NT, and a strong P.

Oh? Shall we wager a Guinness on that? :)

I'm only quite decided in one scale, the other three measurements were all
within 10 points of 50/50. I guess that makes it a little more dangerous.

So? Make a guess.

Of course, I could simply dive towards one that is very common, but I'll
make a guess:

INFJ

I'm guessing that you're iffy on the I, the F, and the J

So close :) Although I took the "real" test so many years ago, all the
online tests still confirm that I am INFP.

> I'm guessing that you're iffy on the I, the F, and the J

You may be surprised to know that I am a very strong "I". It's the N, F
and P which hover about the midpoint.

No Guinness for you!

Ya gotta admit I was super close!

BTW: you say "I am a very strong 'I'". You're not agoraphobic, are you?

Nitpickers ...

I=73.53 N=67.57 F=61.76 P=57.14
I could have answered MORE honestly and tipped that "I" scale right over
into the psychic realm.

INFP - "Questor". High capacity for caring. Emotional face to the world.
High sense of honor derived from internal values. 4.4% of total population.

Funny ... we don't LOOK like two peas in a pod.

Mine are along the lines of (guessing): I=3D85%, N=3D57%, F=3D51%, P=3D5=
8%

I remember clearly that F was very close. Depending on the online test =
I =

take, I can slip over into T.

Because of the ambiguity of my scores, I don't really pay attention to t=
he =

"final assessment" the various test try to foist upon you. I'm =

iconoclastic if anything ;)

Interestingly enough, when I play online games, I do tend to take the =

"healer" role...

What's funny is that people look to a personality test to define and =

categorize them. What meaning do the scores have but the most superfici=
al =

look at who you really are?

Nah, I already knew all that stuff about me from an early age. It's only
fun if the shoe fits ... kinda like reading your horrorscope and relating
to the message. All the insight crafts are founded on the practitioner's
intuitive capabilities. Interpretation is designed to be subjective, Tests
only tell us what we know about ourselves and gives everyone a common
terminology.
