Re: Hostgator- POWERVPS

| Seting up the server at powervps wasn't the problem but, the lag and the
failed mail servers the reset connections and very slow connections I would
rather see downtime.
This has nothing to do with running it all yourself, it is something on
there
end that I couldn't wait for them to figure out I have deadlines.
Well I cancelled the account and when I woke up my site was down with all my
files, this was the only thing they did right! Now my files are gone they
won't return email's and they are trying to stop me from expressing my
opinion on there forum.
These people are not bad and I don't hold a grudge but they are not the host
for me.

(Top posting fixed)
Well, they did exactly what you told them to do. You told them to
cancel your account, so they did. Why do you expect them to keep your
files available to you? You should have your own backups.
As for keeping you from posting in their forums - I don't see any reason
why they should allow you to post there. Everything I've seen here
indicates it's your own fault.
And the fact you don't provide a name or email address (even a munged
one) gives you absolutely no credibility in my book. Sorry.
And please don't top post. This group uses bottom posting as the
standard.

| It's my fault and I do have a backup but it's not my fualt that they are
laggy and unreliable unless your here to speak for them.
What is top post sorry but I don't get it.

| Well I should at least be able to give an opinion on my experience on their
site don't you think or should anyone get away with anything they want on
the net.
It's not like I'm going to post anything negative I just want to let people
know what I went through is that wrong?
Anyway I figured out how to post on their forums but who cares anyway I've
move on..

.... opposed to posting beneath the text you are replying to which as you
can see is much easier to follow.
I'm not going to run through the whys & wherefores, plenty notes on the
web if you're interested. If you're new to usenet then the notes refered
to in my sig below point to sources of info which you may find
useful/interesting/entertaining - perhaps.

Well, I sure don't care what someone who comes in here anonymously and
posts something exactly opposite what I and multiple other webmasters
have found.
Sorry, if you want to be taken seriously around here, you need a valid
email - even if it is munged like mine is. And you really need to hang
around and be part of the group.
We have no idea who you are, your experience level or anything else
about you. You may be the greatest sysadmin on earth, or you may be
someone who knows just enough about computers to open Front Page. You
could even be a shill for HostGator - it's happened before with other
companies, and will happen again.
In short, you've made claims - but we have nothing other than your word
to back them up. And your credibility here is virtually nil right now.
Nothing against you personally - but I hope you can see where I'm coming
from.
