| I just created a subdomain to hold some videos - jpg & mpg. I would
like for users to be able to browse the files in my subdomain then
click on what they want to see/watch. Currently, going to that
subdomain gives a 403 and talks with tech support (at godaddy - who is
my host) suggest that I should use htaccess although they provide no
guidance.
In looking at htaccess, it seems robust for blocking users but I cannot
determine how to allow users to see the directory.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Upload an empty one into that directory (and only that one).

One of the perils of mixing work with usenet.
Life is so much simpler when viewed with beer goggles.

I'd say it got twice as complicated, as you'd be seeing double?

nah - you just see more of stuff you want to see. The remainder is double
filtered. <g>
