| I need a host that will provide me with php, no ads, and smtp that I
can use in PHP for free. Is there such thing? I've found
http://www.x10hosting.com but it might take me a while to get hosting
on there because of the lottery system and their bypass codes don't
work.

there's always such a thing as free, and you get exactly what you've paid.

Except that the hosting industry is *grossly overpriced* because
marketing is nearly 80% of the expense budget of the providers.
You can get 5000 relaible clustered hosting accounts for $50/month.
The marketing and advertising industry is turning the Internet into a
swamp of overpriced, outsourced shlock.

!!!!!!!! Thats absolutely correct !!!!!!!!
Its the truest thing I have heard said on the Internet for a very long time,
and it will ultimately be the Internet's downfall.
Nobody is making a real tangible profit.
Eventually the chickens will come home to roost and things will start to
fall apart or the whole thing will end up in the hands of one company.
