I'm sure most of you will recognize the "words" in the subject line as
place holders for content commonly used in websites. Does anyone know
their origin?

Thanks, that was great! Two mysteries solved!! The first is the origin
and use of the dummy text. The second is why I couldn't seem to get any
answers with google searches. You may have noticed that my sample
spelling of "Lorem ipsun" doesn't match the standard, which explains
why I never found lipsum.com...

....again, thanks much!

There is an error on that page in this:

"There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it and wants to have
it, simply because it is pain..."

This is simply wrong as bull riders are in pursuit of pain. My Native
American friend (he is a bull rider and 52 years old) in the states tells
me all the time if he has no pain at all then he is dead. So pain is what
keeps him alive.

I seriously doubt that Cicero, a philosopher who died in 43 BC, cared
whether the phrases he wrote applied to bull riders. And quoting a
phrase which may have inaccuracies from a book written two thousand
years ago does not make the webpage erroneous.
